The children and parents did our school proud with an amazing performance.

Fionnuala-Kennedy-Teacher-

POSITION:
Manager & School Proprietor

QUALIFICATIONS:
BA (Hons.) in Early Childhood Education
Mont. Dip.; Leadership for Inclusion (LINC) Special Purpose Award

“In this profession, every day brings new ideas, findings, challenges & new learning.  We view each child as an individual, with their own interests, strengths and needs.

They will be at varying levels of cognitive, physical, emotional and social development.  It is our job to observe and listen to each child and then plan the curriculum accordingly, to enable optimum learning and development.

I have a special interest in literacy, choosing books that will capture the child’s attention and imagination; then layering the book’s theme through art, drama, puppets, etc.

As a team, we advocate for the embracing of diversity and promotion of equality, for everyone.  We are passionate about each child reaching their full potential and ensuring that they will make many happy memories.”

our
mission statement

First and foremost, The Lodge Montessori aims to provide an inclusive, safe, stimulating and happy environment, where the children have the freedom to learn and develop at their own pace. Each child will be respected as an individual, their interests will be noted, so that together, we can engage in a diverse emergent-based curriculum. We aim to provide an environment that will engage each child’s active curiosity, thereby supporting their holistic development.
One parent kindly quoted:
“The Lodge is where big hearts enable inquisitive minds to learn and develop”

The whole child perspective identifies nine dimensions across which children’s outcomes can be measured and these are as follows:

1. Physical and Mental well-being
2. Emotional, Behavioural and Social well-being
3. Cognitive development
4. Spiritual and Moral well-being
5. Identity & Belonging
6. Diversity & Inclusion
7. Self-care
8. Family relationships
9. Peer relationships

We sincerely hope that each child who passes through our doors, will fondly remember their time here with us. That they will move forward through life with an open mind, acceptance of themselves and others, with skills of resilience, strong social & emotional well-being and with an innate interest in learning.

“The Montessori is full of warmth, love, nurture and a lovely experience for a child’s introduction to the world of school.”

st-

CATHERINE O’KEEFE

“My three boys went to the Lodge Montessori and as such I got to know Fionnuala & Sue over an 8 year period. My sons loved everyday here and now that my last son finished last summer they still talk warmly about their great days with the girls and always want to go back for a visit – the Montessori is full of warmth, love, nurture and a lovely experience for a child’s introduction to the world of school. I cannot recommend Fionnuala’s approach, care and dedication to all the kids who pass through the doors – its’ one of the best starts in life we gave our boys. and we all miss our daily drop to Monty and chats with the girls!”

“They still talk about how fun it was. Fionnuala and Sue are just brilliant with the children and add the fun factor.”

st-

TANYA CUNNINGHAM

Fionnuala and Sue are just brilliant with the children and add the fun factor and such a happy environment. From the gorgeous plays (about Planets, Halloween, Nativity and also Graduation) to the gorgeous arts and crafts. My children were very happy going in everyday and that says it all. Couldn’t recommend this Montessori school enough.”

My son loves going in to Fionnuala and Sue and all his friends each morning and is so happy there, and my daughter still speaks of The Lodge with such affection and loves popping back for a visit. An amazing place to start any child’s educational journey!”
